WIRELESS NETWORK SECURITY ASSESSMENT AND WIFI SECURITY ANALYSIS

Abstract

Wireless networks have become an essential part of modern communication infrastructure, providing convenient connectivity for homes, organizations, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and businesses. The widespread use of Wi-Fi also increases the importance of protecting wireless networks against unauthorized access, weak configurations, insecure authentication, and other security risks. A systematic wireless security assessment can help administrators identify configuration weaknesses and improve the overall security posture of their networks. The proposed Wireless Network Security Assessment and WiFi Security Analysis system is designed to provide a centralized platform for evaluating the security configuration and risk characteristics of authorized wireless networks. The system can collect permitted information about wireless network configurations, authentication methods, encryption mechanisms, signal characteristics, and related security parameters. The collected information is analyzed using predefined security policies and assessment criteria. The platform can identify potential security concerns such as weak security configurations, outdated encryption settings, insecure authentication practices, unauthorized or unknown wireless networks, and configuration inconsistencies. Findings can be classified according to severity and prioritized according to their potential security impact. The system focuses on defensive assessment and does not require harmful exploitation of wireless networks. A centralized dashboard can display discovered wireless networks, security standards, encryption types, risk levels, assessment status, and historical trends.
