Mobile cloud computing has become the dominant paradigm for data storage and sharing among resource-constrained handheld devices. However, existing cloud data sharing frameworks frequently trade security for performance, imposing prohibitive cryptographic overhead on battery-limited smartphones. This paper presents CloudShare Lite, a lightweight cryptographic data sharing framework specifically engineered for the mobile cloud environment. CloudShare Lite integrates AES-256-GCM block-level encryption with a Merkle-tree-based integrity verification mechanism, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for fine-grained authorization, and a centralized Key Management Service (KMS) with 24-hour automated key rotation. Experimental evaluation on Android and iOS clients demonstrates end-to-end encryption latency of 18.4 ms, throughput of 48.2 MB/s, and a storage overhead of only 4.2%—outperforming all evaluated baselines including SecureDropBox, MobiCloud, CloudCrypt, and TinySSL across all performance and security metrics. Battery impact remains below 3.2% for sustained 1 GB transfer sessions. CloudShare Lite establishes that enterprise-grade cryptographic security is achievable on mobile devices without compromising user experience
