Abstract

Web applications are widely used for delivering online services, managing business operations, processing transactions, and storing sensitive information. Their increasing complexity introduces security risks related to authentication, authorization, input validation, session management, configuration, and data protection. Therefore, regular security assessment is essential for identifying weaknesses before they can result in security incidents. The proposed Web Application Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Report system provides a structured approach for conducting authorized security assessments of web applications. The platform supports the collection and organization of security observations obtained through approved penetration-testing activities. The assessment results are analyzed and mapped to appropriate vulnerability categories to provide a clear understanding of the applications security posture. The system evaluates identified security issues based on factors such as severity, potential impact, affected application components, and evidence collected during testing. Findings can be classified into categories such as high, medium, low, and informational. This risk-based approach helps security analysts and developers prioritize vulnerabilities that require immediate attention. A centralized dashboard can present assessment progress, vulnerability distribution, severity statistics, affected endpoints, and remediation status. The system also maintains assessment history and generates structured vulnerability reports containing finding descriptions, evidence references, risk ratings, and recommended remediation actions. This makes the assessment results easier to communicate to technical and management teams. The primary objective of the project is to improve the efficiency, consistency, and documentation of web application penetration testing. By combining authorized testing, vulnerability management, risk assessment, visualization, and automated reporting, the platform can help organizations identify security weaknesses and track their remediation. The system is intended for legitimate security testing, cybersecurity education, secure software development, and authorized vulnerability assessment.
