Additive manufacturing has developed from a rapid prototyping technique into an important manufacturing route for producing functional engineering components with complex shapes, reduced material waste, and high design flexibility. However, the mechanical performance and dimensional quality of additively manufactured components are strongly influenced by processing parameters. Improper selection of layer thickness, printing temperature, printing speed, infill density, and deposition strategy can result in weak interlayer bonding, internal voids, poor surface quality, dimensional errors, and reduced structural performance. The present study investigates the optimization of major additive manufacturing parameters for producing highperformance engineering components using fused filament fabrication of short carbon-fibrereinforced polyamide. The optimized condition is estimated to improve tensile and flexural performance while reducing surface roughness. The study demonstrates that systematic process parameter optimization can significantly improve the suitability of additive manufacturing for load-bearing and high-performance mechanical engineering applications
