Financial Performance Analysis of Renewable Energy Companies in India

Abstract

The renewable energy sector has emerged as one of the fastest-growing industries in India, driven by increasing investments, supportive government policies, and the global transition toward sustainable energy sources. Financial performance analysis plays a vital role in assessing the operational efficiency, profitability, liquidity, and long-term sustainability of renewable energy companies. This study examines the financial performance of selected renewable energy companies in India using key financial indicators such as profitability ratios, liquidity ratios, leverage ratios, efficiency ratios, and return on investment. Secondary data collected from annual reports and published financial statements over a five-year period form the basis of the analysis. Comparative and trend analysis techniques are employed to evaluate financial growth, identify performance patterns, and assess the financial stability of the selected firms. The findings indicate that while the renewable energy sector demonstrates strong growth potential due to rising demand and policy support, companies exhibit varying levels of financial performance influenced by capital-intensive investments, debt financing, operational efficiency, and market conditions. The study highlights the importance of sound financial management in enhancing shareholder value and ensuring sustainable business growth. The results provide valuable insights for investors, policymakers, financial analysts, and corporate managers in understanding the financial health of renewable energy companies and supporting informed investment and strategic decision-making in India's expanding clean energy sector.
