SMARTSCAN ATTENDANCE: QR CODE INTEGRATION FOR EFFICIENT RECORD-KEEPING

Abstract

Accurate and efficient attendance management is a critical requirement for educational institutions and organizations. Traditional methods, such as manual roll calls and sign-in sheets, are time-consuming, prone to errors, and difficult to maintain for large groups. This study presents SmartScan Attendance, a QR code– based system designed to automate and streamline the attendance process. The system enables users to scan unique QR codes using smartphones or tablets, instantly recording attendance in a secure and centralized database. By integrating real-time data processing, automated reporting, and analytics, SmartScan Attendance reduces administrative workload, enhances accuracy, and provides immediate insights into attendance patterns. Experimental deployment in a simulated classroom environment demonstrates high reliability, fast processing times, and ease of use, highlighting the potential of QR code technology in modern attendance management systems.
